My questions is very clear, but to elaborate;

My Chinese girlfriend of more than two years just told me that the other man whom has been chasing her for the past several months is my 'rival.' As if our relationship is in question because of this other man. When I asked her to clarify her meaning, she said she doesn't like him, but that I must cherish her or he will come to take her away. Doesn't that strike you as a threat? It seems borderline joking and insulting, but the woman is serious!

The fact she lets a guy chase her has bothered me, and now this is pissing me off! Am I overeacting? In my mind if a woman says, "Oh yes, we have been lovers for two years, but there are other men for you to contend with..." that implies she is very open to other people. Which means my relationship is not very stable at all.

I treat the girl like a queen. Somtimes Chinese women (women in general) really confuse me. When you have a lover, any you have been together for several years, doesn't that mean you're no longer competing with other people? Any help or advice?
